This yarn was inspired by a really intriguing phrase from Homer's Odyssey. Apparently the ancient Greeks had no name or concept for the color blue. While pondering the idea for this colorway, a friend mentioned that on a recent trip to Greece, she noticed burgundy hues in the sea while aboard a sailboat.
I created these mini skeins using some of the most frequently used colors in my variegated skeins, so they will go with lots of different colorways. Take a look at the Yarn Pairings section below for some ideas of what to pair this with.
I dyed these minis on Splendid Sock, which is soft but strong, making it perfect for the heels and toes of your favorite socks but still soft enough for a lovely shawl. The yarn is made of 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon.
If you plan to make socks, I recommend pairing this with a skein of either Sock Perfection or So Silky Sock.
