EIGHT DAYS OF EASTER 2025 Mini Skein Kit - Preorder

Each year for the last six years I have created a mini skein surprise kit for Easter. These are a lot like Advent calendars but smaller.

This year, though, I'm doing something a little different. While I'm not going to show you the individual mini skeins ahead of time, I will show you the finished object that you can make with them. 

Pattern
This year's kit comes with my Angel Wings Ponchette pattern along with a gradient set of minis so you can make the Angel Wings Ponchette as shown in the photo.

The diamond-shaped construction makes for triangular “wings” that flow ethereally behind your arms. It can also be worn with the longer diamond points front and back since the pattern is completely symmetrical. There is beautiful Old Shale Lace front and back with a lacy picot bind-off and lots of easy knitting in between. The pattern is appropriate for an advanced beginner.

I'll include a paper copy of the pattern with the yarn, and I'm also including a digital copy too. You'll get a notification by email a few minutes after you check out with a link to download the pattern. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.

Yarn
The yarn base is Splendid Sock, which is made of 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon. It's a 4-ply yarn that is strong enough for socks and soft enough for shawls. You'll get eight 20 gram minis with the kit. Each one is 92 yards, so you'll get 736 yards altogether. 

Colorways
The colorways will be a gradient set. Each one is variegated, and the colorways go from dark to light as shown in the photos of the Angel Wings Ponchette. 

Packaging Options
This year you can choose between two packaging options:

For Option A, each mini skein will be packaged in a small reusable satin drawstring bag, and those will be placed in a reusable basket with paper Easter grass. This is a newer option that is a little more environmentally friendly and also saves on assembly time.

For Option B, each mini skein will be placed inside a large plastic Easter egg, and those will be placed in a reusable basket with Easter grass. You can see a photo of what this looks like from previous years.

Either way, the idea is to open the numbered bags or eggs in order from 1 to 8 and knit that part of the pattern each day starting with Easter. Of course if it takes a little longer, all the better! It's meant to be enjoyed for as long as it takes.

Preorder
I'm offering this as a preorder, which means I will dye as many sets as there are orders.

Timeline
I'll be dyeing all the kits and shipping them out by April 8th in order to have plenty of time for you to receive them before Easter, which is on April 20th this year. The pre-order will be available until either the middle of March or when all the kits sell out--whichever comes first.

Please order the Eight Days of Easter kit by itself because it's just the right size for the boxes. :-)

Gift Packaging
These kits make wonderful Easter presents for your favorite fiber artist. If you're getting this as a gift, please let me know in the note to seller so I will know to leave out the pricing info.  

Notions
Here's what you'll need to make the Angel Wings Ponchette pattern:

• US Size 5 / 3.75 mm circular needles that are between 18 and 24 inches in length
• US Size 5 / 3.75 mm circular needles that are at least 40 inches in length
• 8 stitch markers with at least 2 that are unique from all the rest and from each other
• A needle to weave in your ends
• A scale that measures in grams
• Blocking mats and pins

International Customers
I am certainly happy to ship these to Canada, but please keep in mind that they may not arrive in time for Easter. Also be aware that you may have to pay Customs fees.

Wholesale Customers
Unfortunately, the extra labor involved in these kits makes it so that I cannot offer them to my wholesale customers. I'm sorry!
