About the Pattern
This is a small ponchette that is fun and easy to make and versatile enough to wear all year long. I love shawls too, but as a mom, small ponchos like this are my go-to cozy accessory because they stay put so nicely. They are great for air-conditioned offices in summer, cool evening in fall and spring, and an extra layer of warmth in winter. Other than the lace section at the end, this is a great pattern for knitting while chatting or watching a movie.

Yarn Requirements
For the assigned pooling option, you'll need 300 yards of a sock-weight assigned pooling colorway and 300 yards of a semi-solid or variegated colorway to go with it. The kit has the yarn you'll need.
The different options include three different yarn bases, each of which includes plenty of yarn. Here are the stats on the three different yarn bases:
- Sock Perfection has 450 yards per skein, and it is made of 80% extra-soft superwash merino and 20% nylon. It is a 4-ply yarn.
- Sparkly Merino Sock has 409 yards per skein, and it is made of 92% superwash merino and 8% lurex. It is a 4-ply yarn.
- Stained Glass Sock has 400 yards per skein, and it is made of 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon. It is a 2-ply yarn, and one ply alternates between black and white wool.
Alternate Pattern Option
If you prefer shawls to ponchettes, you can use the same yarn to knit Deborah Bowanko's Pools of Color shawl. If you choose that option, be sure to pick one of the sets dyed on Sock Perfection because you'll need all 450 yards for the assigned pooling colorway.
